Chapel and spring of „holy water“ in Hájek

The pilgrims heading to the Marian Temple in Frýdek believed that the water from the well has a miraculous power. Everyone drank, washed in „holy“ water, and took it to the bottle as a gift from the pilgrimage.

Evangelical Church

On the hill above Frýdek, you can admire the one-nave neo-Gothic church from coarse brickwork built in 1911 which is a distinct dominant of the city. This church has been used by the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren since World War II.

St. Jošt Church

St. Jošt Church is an example of late Renaissance architecture and was built in 1612. A wooden belfry was added in 1791. It is the smallest church in the city. Baroque statues are placed around the church and there was also a cemetery more than a hundred years ago.

Castle square with the fountain with St. Florian

The Castle square is the hearth of the historic town Frýdek and its urban monument zone.

Freedom Square with Renaissance houses and arcades

At Freedom Square, which is a part of the city’s monument zone, you can admire the eight-meter tall baroque Marian column or a replica of the original fountain which was placed only a few meters further up until around 1910.
